Hearthmind brings the 'Twitch Plays' to Hearthstone

Filed under "where did the last 30 minutes go?" is Hearthmind, which applies the collective gaming concept behind Twitch Plays Pokemon to Hearthstone. To make things work with the time-sensitive nature of Hearthstone, the Hearthmind interface polls users for moves once every five seconds -- just click on the screen to suggest the next move -- and once the five seconds are up, the most popular move is made. Though this makes for some clunky gameplay, Hearthmind does manage to win some matches.

The most frustrating feature of this collective gameplay, however, has to be the time between matches. There's nothing to do while waiting for another matchup, but the five second action timer is still running -- and with nothing to click on that does anything, plenty of players hit the cancel button while you're waiting to be matched, meaning you have to go back and queue up for another round, hoping there's not too many clicking the cancel button this time.

Though it's not exactly good gameplay, it's inexplicably engrossing to watch a group of a hundred people all trying to play a round of Hearthstone together ... to varying results.

How to Counter T7 Hunter

Hunter is very popular in the rank now. T7 Hunter means an aggro Hunter which usually can end the game before/at turn 7, its characteristics are:

1. there are a host of small minions with only 1 HP in the deck, such as the Leper Gnome, Stonetusk Boar, Timber Wolf and Starving Buzzard etc.

2. Rely on Eaglehorn Bow + Secrets to attack the opponent’s face continuously.

So how to counter?

First of all, Mage’s Hero Power can wipe out Hunter’s small minions effectively. Besides, in this Mage deck, I take 2*Mad Bomber, 2*Mana Wyrm and 1*Arcane Missiles, which can control the board very well at the early stage.

Secondly, as you can see, I got 2*Acidic Swamp Ooze, so Hunter’s weapons will no longer be a threat.

Thirdly, secrets – Counterspell is mainly used to counter Unleash the Hounds and Kill Command, so you’d better judge the situations on board before play this secret. At turn 3, you can play Kirin Tor Mage + Ice Barrier.

About the defense, I got 2*Ice Barrier, Alexstrasza and a Defender of Argus, the reason why I don’t take the Mirror Image is: it can be wiped out easily by the Explosive Trap.

Given aggro Hunter will not take taunt minions, so that Leeroy Jenkins is here to be another Fireball.

This deck also works very well to counter aggro Warrior and Paladin, but you might consider replace one cqiard with a Flamestrike.

So if you have been bullied by Hunter for many times, now it’s your turn to revenge.

Hearthstone’s Curse of Naxxramas Details Revealed

When the Curse of Naxxramas expansion is released, you can play Hearthstone by your lonesome. Check out the new details about the solo adventure here.

Game Director Eric Dodds and Executive Producer Hamilton Chu spoke to IGN and revealed details concerning the new cards in Curse of Naxxramas, how players will be able to take on challenges and how the addition of the expansion will change the meta game.

The first unique thing about Curse of Naxxramas will be that you won’t receive random cards as rewards. Instead, defeating bosses and challenges will net you specific cards to add to your arsenal.

“There’s no randomness at all,” Dodds said. “So when you do battle with a specific boss, you get a specific card that is associated with that boss. And then, when you complete a wing and have defeated all the bosses for the wing that’s when you get the special legendary that’s at the end of that wing.”
Speaking of, the only enemies you’ll face are boss characters and not just random NPCs of varying class types. In other words, there are no equivalents of “trash mobs” like the ones found in the World of Warcraft version of Naxxramas. You’ll face 15 bosses, 9 class challenges and a few legendaries. This means you’ll earn about 30 cards, one for each boss, one for each cleared wing, one per class challenge and then another legendary for the final boss, though whether or not this final boss is the last challenge in the expansion is unconfirmed.
We’ll let you know when a release date and prices have been set for the Curse of Naxxramas content. Until then, hone your skills in Hearthstone and cobble together the best deck that you can!

New Druid Card Announced: Poison Seed

One of the announcements coming out PAX East from Blizzard was the new Naxxramas Adventure mode. We know that the upcoming set was going to see the addition of 30 new cards. Of those 30, nine would be class specific. Today, the @PlayHearthstone twitter account revealed what the new Druid specific card would be.

This is a powerful common card. It doesn’t exactly clear the board, but it can be an equalizer if used properly. A spell like this bypasses Divine Shield and destroys larger minions that might have Taunt active (like Molten Giant with a Sunfury Protector). It turns larger threats into a much more manageable size. Don’t want to deal with a Ragnaros the Firelord or a Ysera? Poison Seeds and you facing some not-so-legendaries instead.

Right away, I would pair Poison Seeds with Savage Roar next turn as a potential finisher (assuming your Treants survive). Of course, this assumes that you actually have a board to begin with. It’ll allow you to get around any Taunt minions that your opponent has on their side of the board.

Want to give yourself another advantage? Poison Seeds and follow up with Power of the Wild which will make your Treants trade favorably.

If you actually want to just clear out the entire board and reset everything, stick an Abomination on the board then cast Poison Seeds. In theory, that should create all the Treants and then the Deathrattle from the Abomination should fire off killing everything.

What’re your thoughts on Poison Seed? Will you be sticking it in your Druid deck? I’m not sure if it will fit in with a deck like DKMR’s Druid Tokens. I just don’t know what card it would replace.

Top 4 of Hearth2p Tournament

After two days of competition, 128 have become four. Savjz, Lifecoach, Beherit, and Rdu are your four players who will represent EU in next week's EU vs CN team tournament. After the top four players were determined, they played showmatches to determine the "winner" of the tournament. In the end, Savjz won the tournament in some of the closest games of Hearthstone we've seen yet.
But perhaps most interesting about the tournament was the fact that all top 8 finishers had Hunter in their lineups and many of the top placing players predominately only played Hunter throughout both the Swiss and bracket stages.

Tips on How To Get Better At Hearthstone

Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft is a deceptive game because it can be so easy to get into, but doing well winds up being a bit of a challenge. Well, for those just jumping into the game with its iPad release, here are a few general tips on how to get better at Hearthstone.
If you’re dedicated to be a good player, this is not a standard mobile title, this is a Blizzard-made PC game that’s available on mobile. Yes, it has an easy learning curve to get into, but there’s a steep mountain to climb to be an expert, and part of that is collecting all the great cards that are out there. So, if you’re going to go from newb to even just being respectable at the game, be prepared to dig in. Get ready to lose often, and to spend a lot of time learning how to play well as much as actually trying to play.
Take advantage of the resources that are out there, sites like Hearthstone Gamepedia Wiki, Liquidhearth are quite beneficial. In addition, pay attention and try not be distracted when you are playing seriously because you need to know what your strategy is going to be, what card you’are going to play and make some moves. Be smart, and you can outwit your opponents.
Don’t be afraid to experiment. It can be easy when starting out to stick with the starting class and to just try and build them out. Don’t do so – there are nine classes in total, and it’s possible that one might be more conducive to your play style than another. So try them out as you unlock them. This is why you should be dedicated. You likely won’t get to a position where you are at an optimal level for a long time if you’re committed to being good.
So always be trying out different things, playing as different classes, trying different strategies, and especially forming different decks. Reviewing a deck often is strongly recommended: is a card a good idea to have in a deck? Would a new card be better than one already in the deck you’ve made that you’re comfortable with? You won’t know for sure until you try it out for yourself.
Play regularly – practice against the AI, especially when starting out. But try to complete the missions daily if you’re a serious player: they’re free gold for the taking, and free gold means less real-world money spent on arena entries and booster packs (or just more of them if you’re intent on not paying)! And remember: the things you learn will stick more when you play and do them more. Your account will transfer between different platforms, so you can play wherever you so choose.
So get out there, and get Hearthing those stones for great victory!

Hearthstone: the Most Downloaded App In Many Countries

After hints of the impending world-wide release of Hearthstone on the iPad, Hearthstone found itself available for download from Apple’s App Store last past Wednesday. it would find itself as the most downloaded app in 34 countries, according to this Business Insider article. A rather unbelievable feat for a game that we have known and loved so well for a little over a year now. Knowing what other offerings exist in the App Store (namely, the titan also known as Candy Crush), it’s not too surprising that it is taking Hearthstone a little longer to unseat those giants from the top of the top-grossing iPad apps list, but give the game time.
If you’ve downloaded the game for the iPad, how are you enjoying it? Do you find you actually play on the tablet now more than you do on the PC, if given the choice of both?

Hearthstone Best Arena Class

The Arena is a game mode where players compete against each other using specially constructed decks to earn substantial rewards. It features strong elements of luck and chance, with players essentially gambling upon their own success to try to earn rewards by winning as many games as possible before their deck is knocked out.
Hearthstone Arena is similar to No Limit Holdem Poker in most respects.  There is an undeniable amount of luck involved, especially during the draft phase.  However, a highly skilled and knowledgeable player will usually find a way to overcome any deficiencies that were encountered during draft picks by their play on the table.
Here is a quick list of the Hearthstone Best Arena Class :
Tier 1 – Paladin, Mage
Tier 2 – Druid, Shaman, Hunter, Priest, Rogue, Warrior
Tier 3 – Warlock

Reached Legend Rank

Blizzard's free-to-play competitive card game was made to be played on a tablet, and now iPad owners in Canada, Australia and NewZealand can do just that.
I've downloaded the game from my fake Australian account (Luke vouched for me), and it plays just as well as it does on the PC,without all the distracting other things you can do on a PC, like work. I logged into my Battle.net account, and off I went, losing uncontrollably.
Ranked Play makes the path to move up in the rankings more transparent and gives top-level players more ways to differentiate themselves from each other.
Beyond Rank 1 is a special rank: Legend,Once you hit the Legend rank, it cannot be lost until the season ends,Legend rank will have a big number in the middle of the icon – this tells you your exact rank in your region!!!
So after a long grind. (And I mean long grind, going from rank 5 to legend is hard) I finally achievedlegend rank. I know I am not special, I am probably the 300th person to get it.

Golden Garrosh Hellscream

Whenever a player completes 500 wins in Ranked Play mode with Garrosh Hellscream, that hero will be permanently replaced with a golden version. Its similar to golden cards, with golden borders and special animations, and will automatically be used instead of the regular version, in Casual and Ranked play, as well as Duels, but will not be used for Arena.
Garrosh Hellscream’s powers will also be affected.

Once unlocked, golden Garrosh Hellscream cannot be disabled.

Gaming Freedom: Hearthstone's success is all in the cards

MANILA, Philippines - While there are a number of online role-playing  games available these days, one growing segment among online games is  the strategy card game. Requiring a good grasp of tactics and game  mechanics and far less emphasis on reflexes, the fun of a good card game  comes from outsmarting your opponent.

While some of you may be interested in online role-playing games,  others may find more to love with that genre of gaming. That idea in  mind, I thought, "Why not introduce a free-to-play strategy card game  this week?"

Blizzard, the makers of the Warcraft strategy games and the World of Warcraft  online role-playing game, have a proposition for you. Would you fancy  joining people around the world in a friendly game of cards?

Introducing Hearthstone
Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft is a free trading card game that everyone can play by signing up for a Battle.net account and downloading the game.

Unlike a traditional card game like poker, you're not out to score  wins by creating a winning combination of cards for a final show of  hands with your opponents.

Instead, Hearthstone tasks players with building decks of playing  cards based around a particular character class from World of Warcraft,  which they can then take to battle against a computer opponent, or  against other players from around the world.

Fight the computer or others, win card battles, and make your deck of  playing cards more powerful by adding and removing cards that best fit  your playstyle: that's the premise of Hearthstone.

The best part is, it's easy to learn the basics, but mastery will  take a bit of practice and some dedicated play time to achieve.
